every month is offered for the work of the Shrine at Walsingham,
unfortunately the November mass will be offered at 9am on November 26th
as there is a children's activity day at 10am. There will be no formal
meeting after the next mass.

Walsingham
Appeal Concert May 2006
Plans are well under way to host a
Gala concert in S. Faith's in aid of the Walsingham Appeal.
This will take place on Saturday 20th May at 7.30pm. Among the
performers will be "The Three Divas" singing "Ave Marias" by
Caccini, Bach, Schubert and Verdi; Parry's "I was glad", Handel's
"Zadok the Priest", the "Hallelujah Chorus" and other choral pieces
sung by a massed choir specially formed for this event from parishes
(with links to Walsingham) in the Dioceses of Liverpool, Manchester,
Blackburn and Chester, directed by Gerard Callacher; Piano Duets with
Fr Neil Kelley and Bishop Michael Marshall.
At the time of writing I have approached Sue Jenkins (who came and took
part in the BBC programmes last year) to come and take part and
invitations have been sent out to other distinguished personalities.
Fr. Philip from Walsingham will be present and Bishop Michael will
preach at the services the following day. This exciting event will be
given significant nationwide publicity so we are in for a treat!
The Bishop of Blackburn has said he hopes to be present and I will be
inviting the other bishops of the North West.
Ticket prices: £20 (including champagne supper with the artists
from 6.00 pm) or £15 concert only.

Newsletter
As explained, the 1030 Mass in S. Faith's on the last Sunday of every
month is offered for the work of the Shrine at Walsingham. Below you
will find a sheet which we used at Walsingham for prayer requests. If
you would like to, please let me have any names to be prayed for at the
monthly mass and at the forthcoming Cell meetings using these sheets. I
will endeavour to get subsequent newsletters out one week before the
monthly mass. I will try...!

Aims
and objectives of the Cell
To make prayer a priority
To make the Cell and its meetings/services as open and inclusive as
possible, whether people wish to join the Cell or not, and whether they
visit Walsingham or not
To personally encourage new members or those who may want to explore
what we are seeking to do
To have our churches open more (when meetings are held) for people to
come in and pray and to advertise this with notices outside and
possibly adverts in Church News of the Crosby Herald
To discover more about prayer and how to grow in our personal lives
Finances
Each cell member will pay £5 at each meeting to cover costs of
meals and refreshments. Those who wish to come along would do so free
for their first meeting but would pay £5 (as we will) at
subsequent meetings.
