The middle day of the Tree Festival week is always busy, and this year's was no exception.
At lunchtime a large contingent of small girls - the pupils of Merchant Taylors' Stanfield - sang sweetly to us.
Parties of children from Waterloo Primary School continued to drop in and look around, and the refreshments and sales stalls were kept busy.

The evening saw what is now a popular tradition: a carol service with brass band accompaniment.
Our monthly Services Family Support Group meeting was once again subsumed into an evening Tree Festival session.
A capacity congregation/audience sang carols, introduced and linked by our regular chaplain Padre George Perera,
while the Lancashire Artillery Band, resplendent as ever in their striking dress uniforms, accompanied the carols and played Christmas medleys.
Cadets from Merchant Taylors' Combined Cadet Force acted as stewards and took a retiring collection for forces' charities
The stalls were open and the trees invited donations to their charities - and a great community time was had by all.
