Chapter Three - Close Harmony and Carols

This final set of pictures records the very special concert held on the Friday evening of the Tree Festival week.
This was the only ticketed event of the week, but this did not deter a goodly audience from turning out to enjoy three musical offerings.

First up were the Wayfarers Close H
armony Barbershop Singers from Southport, among whose ranks was Rick Walker, wearing two hats with his usual aplomb.
The group's a capella smooth and silky harmonies were a delight this year as on previous occasions.

They were followed on stage by the St Nicholas Singers, the increasingly accomplished community choir based at our sister church in Blundellsands.
Under the capable direction of their director, Mike Foy, they presented a lovely sequence of carols and Christmas music.

After the interval, the Wayfarers gave voice again, before the evening was ended by a marvellous performance by local mezzo-soprano Danielle Louise Thomas.
Her lovely voice and  fine repertoire made a fitting ending to the night's music and heralded the imminent close of the tenth St Faith's Christmas Tree Festival.

A ever, we are more than grateful to the team of hard-working helpers, this year under the direction of Rick and Rosie Walker, or making possible this landmark event in the service
of our parish and local community and the many charities for which the trees raised much needed and appreciated funding.
