Holiday Club Happenings 2006
...fun and games at St Mary's

The Holiday Clubs at St Mary's has been going for some twenty years;  at St Faith's the tradition is now in its fourth busy year!

Each July, a gang of selfless helpers organise and run five days of events for children, aged between 5 and 11, of the churches and parishes - and they are always packed out, with a waiting list!  The children are organised in groups according to their age, and follow a programme of group activities indoors and outside - making things, and doing things. The programmes include  fun and games on playing fields, and at least one coach trip to an attraction some distance away. The theme this year was 'Space',

The final day features a church service, with the children performing for their parents and showing something of what they have been doing, and a disco to round off the whole week.

Our picture gallery (courtesy of Joan Tudhope and Joy Roderick) on this and the linked second page, shows something of an action-packed five days for the St Mary's children - and their dedicated helpers! Following these, you can browse two further pages of pictures, taken by Peter Connolly.
