It's the 'Last Night of the Proms'
at Saint Mary's!

Following the tradition of recent years, a flag-bedecked Saint Mary's saw the 2006 'Last Night of the Proms' concert on September 23rd.

This year, Fr Neil Kelley on the church organ was joined by eminent soprano Sarah Helsby-Hughes for a colourful and varied evening of organ music, songs and, of course, patriotic choruses. The programme included the 'War March of the Priests' in honour of Fr Charles Billington's Golden Jubilee of priesthood! We sang 'Rule Britannia' and 'Land of Hope and Glory' in the second half, fortified by a glass of interval champagne, and went home happy as usual from our northern answer to the Royal Albert Hall.
