the official 90th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen
(whom God preserve)
the Anglican Churches of Waterloo came together at St Faiths' for special celebrations on Sunday, 12th June 2016.
Some two hundred members young and old of St Faith's, Christchurch, St Mary's and St John's attended a Festival Eucharist at 10.30 am.
The celebrant was Fr Gregor Cuff, and clergy and people from all four churches had their parts to play in the worship.
The Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Pam Brown, represented the Queen, but we were also graced by the unexpected presence, if of a two-dimensional nature,
of Her Majesty (and of course a corgi companion). Candles were lit on symbolic royal birthday cakes and the Scouting Vows repeated.
The banners of St Faith's and St Mary's uniformed organisations made a striking display as the service came to a colourful conclusion.
But what was the weather doing outside...?

By now it was drizzling on and off. The second batch of photos reveal the triumph of the British spirit triumphed as the rain gave way, at least for an hour or so, to drier conditions!
