Crumblies' Christmas 2006

On Sunday, December 17th December, 2006, the More Mature Members of the United Benefice's two congregations sat down to the annual Senior Citizen's Christmas Lunch in St Faith's Hall. We managed to squeeze in even more than usual, with some 95 venerable diners being served drinks and a three course meal, courtesy of some 25 assorted helpers. Chris Price's pictures show the assembled happy eaters, though not the rousing choruses of carols afterwards (he was washing up at the time!).

When they had all  gone home, by car, taxi, on foot or even by zimmer frame, the helpers sat down for their own food and drink. The meal was, as in previous years, partly funded  by the efforts of St Faith's Men's Group: these latter worthies also served at table (they weren't only here for the beer for once!).
