'If
Wet, in the Hall' - then the sun came out!
The
morning of the 2007 United Benefice Barbecue was wet and unpromising -
so we set it all up in the Church Hall.
Then, just in time, the intercessions
of the assembled clergy prevailed, and the sun came out. Everyone
decamped with tables and chairs t
o the Vicarage garden, the
bouncy castle was deflated in the Upper Room and lugged down to the
garden, and we all enjoyed a relaxed,
sunny and warm afternoon.
Two ladies sneaked off to a quiet corner
of the garden to defy the smoking ban
