Pictures from the
United Benefice Parish Barbecue on Sunday, August 17th
Our luck
held (or maybe it was just an answer to prayer) and the sun shone
throughout the late afternoon
on the vicarage
garden. There was a ready supply of bangers and burgers, with ice-cream
to round the
feast off,
while in the further recesses of the grounds the usual Bouncy Castle
and board games
kept the children happy.
The profits from these annual events
are donated to charity, and this year the money, swelled by the proceeds
of a raffle, is going to Classic fm's
Music Makers, which provides music therapy for disabled adults and
children
and under-privileged children,
nationwide. St Faith's choir member Mari Griffiths will next March be
trekking
100 km across the Sahara Desert
for the charity, and the giving of the afternoon's profits to the fund
is one of
the ways in which groups and
individuals at our church are helping her reach her sponsoring target.
