Lighting up
for the Licensing...

Autumn
Occasions 06:
'Licensed
for Liturgy'
The evening of
Sunday, September 24th, 2006 saw the licensing, by the Bishop of
Warrington, of Fr Neil Kelley, as Diocesan Adviser on Worship and
Liturgy.
Our pictures show Bishop David
preaching, and Fr Neil reciving his license, reading himself in and
receiving the oil of anointing, before kneeling with other members of
his team for blessing and commnissioning. Finally, a less solemn moment
at the back of church before tucking in to the traditional bun-fight!
This very special occasion came at the
end of a particularly busy weekend for the United Benefice. Friday 22nd
saw the return of Fr Charles Billington, erstwhile vicar of St Faith's
to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of his priesthood. CLICK
HERE for the record of this event. Saturday night saw the
traditional 'Last Night of the Proms' concert at St Mary's, replete
with flags and a soprano soloist. CLICK
HERE for
that event.
