'Sausages in the Sunshine'

The Medic Malawi Barbecue

On  the afternoon of Sunday, August 15th, 2005, some fifty or sixty members of St Faith's and St Mary's congregations gathered in the pleasant surroundings of the Vicarage garden to enjoy the annual United Benefice Summer Barbecue.

Our usual luck with the weather held - rarely in recent years have we had to huddle under umbrellas or shelter from the cold. The sun shone, the sausages sizzled and the traditional Good Time was Had by All. This year the proceeds are going to our ongoing project supporting Medic Malawi and, in particular, Saint Faith's Kindergarten. Everyone brought their own drink to minimise outgoings, and there was, needless to say, a grand raffle.

The photos (click to enlarge) show the festivities, the garden, the sausages (and much more fine food) and the perspiring cooks (Ordinand Martin Jones and Treasurer David Jones - no relation).
